The SLAY Society is announcing a month long partnership with a few of our favourite local businesses in order to help spread awareness for glioblastoma and the support caregivers need. These local Ottawa businesses will be donating a portion of their proceeds for the entire month of May back to the Slay Society!!!
Angelic Scents was started after founder, Angela, lost her own mom to #gbm last summer. Angela already donates $1 from every candle to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada and now for the month of May will also be donating $1 from every candle sold to the Slay Society!! Order one of these beautifully scented, coconut soy candles this month and you are helping 2 charities at once, both fighting together!!! Why not stock up? And please check out the Good Vibes Only candle which 50% of its proceeds will go back to help our community’s mutual friend, Sam Morana, as he battles glioblastoma. It’s basically the candle purchase hat trick. Please ALSO check out @goodvibesonly to follow his journey and to see how he and his fiancé, Laura Pagniello have built their own Good Vibes community, giving back to the Princess Margaret hospital for brain cancer research.
Well, these guys took a poutine and a Big Mac and they smashed them together!!! Result: their BEST selling gourmet poutine! Get yourself to Golden Fries Orleans THIS month and try this for yourself! They are donating $1 from every BIG MAX poutine sold in May back to the Slay Society!!!!

Whaaaaaattttt?!?!? La Guimauverie just sent us a $500 donation!!!!!! Thank you to every damn one of you who raced out there for a toasted marshmallow indulgence this past weekend as part of our #slaymay campaign!! These guys planned a last minute weekend fundraiser to honour their beloved brother, Yves, who passed away from glioblastomas a few years ago, and the BLEW OUR MINDS with what they were able to accomplish. If you didn’t make it out there for the fundraising weekend, please still go and show them the love and support they deserve! It’s amazing what small businesses can accomplish in a community full of love. Thank you Mélanie Ladouceur for providing this city with the gooey-est dessert truck around!

"May is Brain Tumour Awareness month. This is a deeply personal post to bring awareness to an amazing cause. I hope you take the time to read, share and support local. I suffer from a benign brain tumor for which I underwent brain surgery in 2011. I had the loving support of my family, friends and colleagues to help get me through the ordeal. I have lost my mother who died at the age of 49 (just a year older than me) and my grandmother to brain aneurysm. My uncle also suffered from a brain aneurysm. So needless to say, this campaign is near and dear to me The SLAY Society Inc is announcing a month long partnership with a few of their favourite local businesses in order to help spread awareness for glioblastoma and the support caregivers need. I will share their posts over the coming weeks. I will donate a portion of each and every commission earned not only for the month of May, but for all of 2021 to support this amazing cause. I am honored to be a part of this." Rachelle Shea
